Whitby
Whitby is a stunning seaside town famous for many things including fish 'n' chips and Whitby Jet. The heritage coast has the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey which inspired Bram Stoker’s novel “Dracula” on the East Cliff, overlooking the North Sea, which is reached by 199 steps, and on the west side of town is West Cliff Beach, lined with beach huts. It is surrounded by the magnificent countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Well known also for the steam Railway and Captain Cook.
Whitby has quaint fishing villages north and south of the town such as Staithes and Robin Hood's Bay clinging to the steep cliffs, and inland the breathtaking moorland with idyllic villages scattered along the valley including Goathland, Danby and Lealholm.​​​
